*Additional information on free consultation

The free consultation is intended not only to provide you with details of what to expect during the relocation process should you decide to use my services, but it is also to discuss other options(only if you desire to do so) you may not have considered or be aware of regarding your particular situation. Your options will depend on both your needs and desires.

For instance, many people opt to stay in their homes for longer periods of time or permanently. The term for this is called aging in place. It is possible to remain independent through modifications to the home to fit one's aging needs.

Many mobility or bath safety products can be simply purchased and installed in the home while some modifications may require significant construction changes. These products and modifications can include such items as handrails and grab bars or the addition of a wheelchair ramp for instance. The necessary modifications will depend on individual needs and preferences.

There are several agencies that provide in home care as well. Some provide nursing and medical care including medication assistance while others simply provide cleaning services and meal preparation or even personal care for help in dressing, bathing, and toileting. Some agencies can provide these services around the clock for 24 hours.

You will want to weigh the costs of aging in place modifications and costs of staying in your home including in home health care versus the costs of assisted living or other retirement communities.

Naturally your decision whether to stay or move will not be entirely based on monetary issues. For instance, you may like the convenience of having someone else prepare your meals and cleanup at a facility. Hey, no more lawn mowing either!

Then again, you have some lasting memories where you have perhaps lived for years and choose to stay not to mention the space and privacy. There's no place like home as they say. You may find that your new place can become your home as well though. Consider activities you may be able to share with others at a facility that may be less likely if you stay at home. Remember your friends are aging too and getting up and out for a visit isn't as easy anymore.

In addition, have you considered the possible federal assistance programs at your disposal to help finance a relocation or aging in place option? For instance if you are a Veteran you may be eligible for financial assistance to help pay for assisted living expenses. It is also worth looking into Medicare or possibly Medicaid depending on your personal financial status and individual eligibility. After all you most likely paid into the system.

If aging in place is for you then you may not require my services. In such a case I will help to point you in the right direction to get you started in accomplishing this and leave it in the hands of specialists trained to recommend and make aging in place modifications.

I also hope to jump start your thinking regarding possible financial resources to help you make a transition if you have not already done so.

Ultimately it is my hope that the free consultation session will enlighten you to any new possibilities you may not have been aware of as avenues that may fit your particular needs. I want you to be satisfied in your personal choices during this time of transition in your life whether you choose to make them with me or someone else.

I also hope that if you do decide to choose my services for relocation that you will find the experience a smooth and pleasant one.

Areas Organized

Kitchens and pantries, bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms, children’s play areas and family recreation rooms, laundry rooms, closets and cupboards, basements, craft rooms and workrooms, garages(seasonally), and storage areas(excluding attics), home offices and small business offices

What to Expect during a Consultation and Organizing Session

A tour of the area(s) you are concerned with will be performed together with the organizer to discuss your organizational needs. We will discuss where you are versus where you want to be and what works for you.

An assessment of the work required with an estimate of the hours and cost to complete the project(s) will be completed. If you decide on the services a contract will be worked up which we will sign and then setup an appointment date to get started.

We will be working side by side a good portion of the time. This is necessary to find solutions that suit your personal routine, taste, and requirements, ie. to achieve the outcome you desire. This is especially true regarding personal items that will require your input as to whether you want to keep, donate, sell, ship, or trash/recycle them. An Inventory Accountability List may be created for recording the details of what was donated, sold, etc. as well as possibly documenting the items using photographs.

Working in blocks of 4 hours or more is recommended. Maintaining that continuity tends to save time overall. Whether it is in your bedroom or kitchen pantry the organizing process will encompass some sorting and possible purging, assessing available space, reviewing and recommending products to achieve your desired outcome within your budget, and then organizing your items methodically.

We will use as many existing products like racks, containers, bins, etc. you already have in your home when arranging items to minimize cost where possible. Product shopping or ordering may necessitate an additional session at a later date due to the very nature of the time required to acquire the products. You can do the shopping yourself, we can shop together, or you can assign that task to me whichever way you prefer.

A cost reassessment may be necessary in some cases as the job progresses due to the inherent nature of organizing projects especially large ones.
